Overview
Proposal templates are reusable templates that govern the branding, styles, and formatting of the proposals built using Proposal Builder. You can create multiple templates that suit the various needs of your organization.
Permissions
You must have the Create and Update Proposal Template permission to create a new template and manage the templates created by other users. See Proposal Builder roles and permissions for more information.
Creating new Proposal templates
Template creation involves three steps: Completing the templates basic information, adding theme files (Response templates) to drive the style, formatting, and layout of the template, and adding sections/configuring content options for dynamic fields.
- Go to the Templates page and do one of the following:
- If no templates exist, click Let's get started.
- If templates already exist, click New template.
- Enter the basic template information:
- Enter the template name and Business Unit (BU) if enabled.
- (Optional) Enter a description and add tags.
Note: Tags offer a great way to keep your templates organized. Additionally, the Tags filter in the Search tool helps you quickly locate the templates you need. - Click Next.
- Add your theme file(s), then click Next.
- You can skip choosing themes and proceed to the next step by selecting I’ll do this later. If skipped, the preview uses Responsive's default theme.
- If multiple theme files are added to the proposal template, they are presented as choices for the proposal author to select from.
- The Add Sections pop-up is displayed by default where you can find the list of Section templates that were created in the Sections module. Add and configure the sections (content and catalogs).
- You must add at least one section in order to create a Proposal template.
- When you reach this step in the template creation process, you can save your progress by clicking Save Draft. You can access your drafts on the Draft tab of the Templates list page.
- Click Done.
- Click Publish to make the template accessible to proposal authors.
Note: You can access the template on the Active tab of the Templates list page.
