Overview

Merge tags are dynamic placeholders used in text-type answers to automatically insert personalized or contextual information (such as names, dates, project details, or custom fields) based on the content available in your organization’s system.

  • Content-Type merge tags: These tags reference reusable content from the Content Library.

  • Custom Field merge tags: These tags are based on user-defined custom fields configured in the Guided Project’s Organization settings. They typically represent specific details like project-specific carriers or client-specific values.

Limitations

Currently, you can't add merge tags.

Working with merge tags

  • Auto-Insertion by AI Panel: Merge tags are automatically added by the AI Panel when generating answers, wherever applicable.

  • Dynamic Replacement: At the time of preview or export, each merge tag is replaced with the actual value it represents (for example, [Client_Name] becomes Acme Corp).

  • Visual Highlighting: Merge tags are highlighted during editing to identify them easily. This highlighting is removed in the final output.

  • Hover for Value: Hovering over a merge tag shows a tooltip with the actual value it will display.

  • Unlink Option: You can remove a merge tag and convert it to plain text by clicking the Unlink icon and confirming the action.

  • Error Handling: The system will flag invalid or missing merge tag values and guide you to resolve them.
