Step-by-step guide to migrating Docusign templates into Signeasy

Follow these steps to move your Docusign templates into Signeasy without rebuilding them from scratch. The process is guided by the Signeasy customer success team, so your templates stay accurate and ready to use.

Step 1: Get Your Templates from DocuSign

  • Go to DocuSign and find your templates under “My Templates.”

  • Download your templates as ZIP files.

  • Share these files with the Signeasy team (they’ll tell you the safest way to send them).

Common Things to Watch

  • If a signer gets the wrong field, check the signing order and names.

  • If a signature looks strange on mobile, try resizing the box and testing again.

Once downloaded, share the files securely with the Signeasy customer success team. The team will then process them correctly for import into your account.

Step 2: Signeasy Uploads Your Templates

  • The Signeasy team will put your DocuSign templates into your Signeasy account.

  • Most fields like signatures, names, emails, and checkboxes move over perfectly, so you don’t have to redo them.

Most standard Docusign fields — such as signer roles, text fields, checkboxes, and dates — transfer correctly. Your existing workflows stay intact, which reduces setup time.

Step 3: Fix Anything Special

  • DocuSign has some features Signeasy doesn’t support yet (like payments and conditional rules).

  • If your templates have these parts, the Signeasy team will let you know and show you how to fix them by hand.

A few Docusign features are not currently supported in Signeasy. These include:

  • Payments

  • Conditional logic

  • Combo boxes

If your templates contain these elements, they won’t migrate automatically. The Signeasy team will flag them for you and suggest manual adjustments where needed.

Step 4: Check Your Templates

  • Open Signeasy and look at your templates.

  • Make sure fields and signing roles look correct.

  • If anything is missing, let Signeasy know and they’ll help.

Because the Signeasy team performs an internal quality check before hand-off, most templates are ready to use immediately.

While we're on the topic of getting things right, here's how to nail the details.
