How to Submit a New Time Off Request in the Global Work Platform™

This article will show you how to submit a new time off request in the Global Work Platform™.

A user must be a supported employee or have PTO Manager or Company Admin permissions to submit a new supported employee time off request in the Global Work Platform™.

Submitting a new time off request for approval

Step 1. Log in to the Global Work Platform™.

If you have difficulty logging into the Global Work Platform™, please reference the "I'm having login issues" article.

Step 2. Under the Time tab, click +Time Off Request.

The button is located at the top of the Time tab.

Step 3. Choose a specific Time Off Type.

The Time Off Type refers to the type of leave you are requesting.

Step 4. Select the date(s) of the Time Off Request.

If you are submitting a half-day time off request, mark 'Half Day' for the applicable day(s).

Step 5. Write in any Time Off Request Notes to your manager, if applicable.

These notes will be included in the email sent to approvers.

Step 6. Attach a document to your time off request under the Upload Related Documents section.

Document upload may not be required for all time off request types. If a document upload is not required for your time off request, you may skip this step.

If a document is required, there are two ways to attach your document:

  • Upload from your device: Click the upload button in the 'Upload Supporting Document' box, then select the document from your device.

  • Drag and drop" Drag the document from your device into the 'Upload Supporting Document' box.

Managers cannot download the document attached to a time off request, but can see that a document has been uploaded with a request.

Step 7. Click 'Submit' once all required information has been entered.

Your submitted time off request will now be visible in the Time Tab of the Global Work Platform™ under 'Pending Approval' status.

Submitting a sick time request for approval

Step 1. Log in to the Global Work Platform™.

If you have difficulty logging into the Global Work Platform™, please reference the "I'm having login issues" article.

Step 2. Under the Time tab, click +New Time Off Request.

The button is located at the top of the Time tab.

Step 3. Select "Sick Leave" from the Time Off Type dropdown.

The Time Off Type refers to the type of leave you are requesting.

Step 4. Select the date(s) of the Time Off Request.

If you are submitting a half-day time off request, mark 'Half Day' for the applicable day(s).

Step 5. Write in any Time Off Request Notes to your manager, if applicable.

These notes will be included in the email sent to approvers.

Step 6. Attach a document to your time off request under the Upload Related Documents section.

The Global Work Platform does not send a notification to your Manager that a sick time request has been submitted. Please notify your Manager of your intention to take sick time, in addition to submitting the official request in the Global Work Platform.
