Adding Contractors to Contractor Management

This article discusses how to add contractors using Contractor Management. Please note that your Contractor Management account must be established first before you can add new contractors.

To add a contractor, a user must be designated as a PTO Manager, HR Manager, or Company Admin.

If you want to add specific requirements to a contractor, the group functionality allows you to add additional requirements that a contractor must complete before getting paid. This can be used for Non-disclosure agreements, writing guides, or internal policies. Check out our Adding Requirements to Contractors with Engagements to learn more.

Adding an individual Contractor to Contractor Management

Step 1. From the Global Work Platform™ Contractors section, click Hire Contractors

There are other Hire Now buttons that will also bring you to this same section. If you click on Begin Hiring from the Homepage, you will be prompted to answer the type of hire. In this instance, you would select a Contractor and click Continue.

Step 2. Select Single Onboarding

Feel free to use the Talend Classification Self-assessment if you want to evaluate if a contractor should be classified as an Employee. We have also partnered with Leading Consultancy firms, should you want to have additional guidance before making the decision, please Contact us.

Accurate worker classification is key to maintaining legal compliance, managing taxes correctly, and minimizing the chance of legal and financial penalties. Take our Talent Classification Self-assessment to help you evaluate whether your hire is correctly classified.

Step 3. Enter the Contractor's information in the Contractor Management App.

Here, you will fill out the contractor's email, company, and full name. There is also an optional External ID field, which can be used for reporting and an identifier when performing bulk importing of payables.

Once this information is filled out, the contractor will receive an email inviting them to log in to the platform and provide more information about themselves.

If you created an engagement, you can assign it to the contractor while inviting them. You can also add a contractor to an engagement after. Check out our Adding Requirements to Contractors with Engagements to learn more.

Step 4. Click Add Contractor

Once you add a contractor, they will receive an email with your company's name in the sender's name and the subject line, inviting them to onboard.

From this Contractor Page, you can also resend the invite.

Upon adding a contractor, they will immediately receive an email inviting them to the platform. Once they complete their profile set up they will be considered active and be part of your subscription. Please review your contractors before adding.
