Magento Tax Engine Installation Guide

Follow these steps to establish a seamless data integration between both platforms.


Prerequisites

  • Admin access to your Magento account

  • A valid Kintsugi account

  • Permissions to create integrations and access API credentials in Magento


Step-by-Step: Integrate Magento with Kintsugi

1. Log In to Magento

  • Go to your Magento Admin URL

  • Enter your username and password

  • Click Sign In

2. Get Your Store Name

  • Navigate to: Stores > All Stores

  • Select your store (e.g., "Main Website Store")

  • Copy the store name for later use

3. Start Magento Integration in Kintsugi

  • Log in to your Kintsugi account

  • Go to Data Sources

  • Click Browse for Integration

  • Look for Magento and click Connect

You’ll see a form requiring six key fields:

  • Shop Name

  • Magento REST API Domain

  • Consumer Key

  • Consumer Secret

  • Access Token

  • Access Token Secret

4. Fill in the First Two Fields

  • Shop Name: Paste the name of your Magento store

  • Magento REST API Domain: Copy the base URL of your Magento site (e.g., https://818659c132.nxc.li.io) and paste it here

5. Generate Magento API Credentials

  • In Magento, go to: System > Extensions > Integrations

  • Click Add New Integration

  • Fill out the form:

    • Name: Example “Kintsugi Integration”

    • Email: A valid email (e.g., you@domain.com)

    • Password: Your Magento admin password

  • Click the API tab

  • Under Resource Access, check the following:

    • Sales

    • Catalog

    • Customers

  • Click Save

6. Activate the Integration

  • After saving, locate your integration in the list (e.g., "test dev")

  • Click Activate

  • Confirm API permissions again (Sales, Catalog, Customers)

  • Click Allow

7. Copy API Credentials

You will now see the following Integration Tokens on screen:

  • Consumer Key

  • Consumer Secret

  • Access Token

  • Access Token Secret

Copy and paste each value into the corresponding field in Kintsugi:

  1. Consumer Key

  2. Consumer Secret

  3. Access Token

  4. Access Token Secret

8. Complete the Setup

  • Once all fields are filled, click Save in Kintsugi

  • You should see a success message: "Successfully connected to Magento"

  • To confirm:

    • Refresh your Kintsugi page

    • Go to Data Sources and check Manage Integrations

    • Magento should now appear as one of your Active integrations
