Manitoba – Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on TAXcess

Step-by-Step Guide to Secure TAXcess Login and Account Access

This article walks you through how to log into Manitoba TAXcess portal and update your Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) settings.  Adding Kintsugi’s secure group email allows us to access your Manitoba tax registration directly—no phone calls or back-and-forth codes needed.


✅ What You’ll Need

  • TAXcess login page

  • Your TAXcess login credentials (username & password)

  • Kintsugi Mail's Virtual Mail Group ID
    [Go to Configuration > Kintsugi Mail > Virtual Mail Group > Group ID)

  • Just 5–7 minutes of your time


Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Log In to TAXcess

    1. Go to TAXcess login page.

    2. Enter your User ID and Password.

    3. Click Log In to access your dashboard.

  2. Verify Security Code

    1. Upon entering your login credentials, you will receive a two-factor authentication code sent to the email address or phone number associated with your account.

    2. Enter the verification code, or check the reCAPTCHA (if any), and then click "Confirm" to continue.

💡 TIP: Check “Trust this device” — this helps avoid repeated 2FA prompts during the process.

  1. Go to your account settings

    1. Once logged in, go to "My Profile"

    2. Navigate to My Profile, then click “Change Profile

  2. Update your Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) method

    1. Locate the Email section and on the “Email Address”, you’ll paste your Kintsugi VMG ID

    2. Access the Virtual Mail Group (VMG) ID within the Kintsugi app.
      Navigate to: Configuration > Kintsugi Mail > Virtual Mail Group > Group ID

      Copy the VMG ID

    3. Simply paste the Virtual Group Mail ID you copied from the Kintsugi platform into the designated field below. After entering the required information, click "Save."

  3. On the Authorization Contact section, make sure to enable “Send Authorization Email

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Please make sure to add your personal or work email in the Virtual Mail Group. This is to ensure you continuously receive important updates and messages from state portals.   1. Verify the change

    1. A verification code will be sent to the email address you linked to Kintsugi’s Virtual Mail Group (VMG)

    2. Copy the verification code that was sent to the email—the one you added or connected in the Virtual Mail Group. Then, paste it into the website or portal to verify and complete the 2FA setup.

    3. Once verified, your account is now connected, and Kintsugi can access it as needed.
