Your Organization ID is the unique code Kintsugi uses to identify your organization. Kintsugi Support may ask for it when you write in by email, and you will need it whenever you call the Kintsugi API.
Time required: Under a minute
You will need: Access to your Kintsugi account
If you manage more than one organization, each organization has its own Organization ID. Copy the ID for the organization your request is actually about, which is not always the one you have open.
Clicking an organization in the list switches your active organization and moves you out of the one you are currently working in. If you only need the ID and do not want to leave your current organization, copy it first, then decide whether you also need to switch.
Log in to Kintsugi.
Sign in to your Kintsugi account.
Open your organization list.
At the bottom of the left-side menu, click your organization name.
Find the organization you need.
Type its name in the search field, or scroll the list. Each row shows the organization name, a Live or Test label, and the organization ID with a copy icon beside it.
Copy the ID. Click the copy icon beside that organization's ID. Clicking anywhere else on the row switches you into that organization.
Paste the value into any text field and read it back. A valid Organization ID starts with orgn_ followed by a short string of letters and numbers, for example orgn_ZXCVasdfghjkl.
If what you pasted is your company name, an email address, or a long string of digits with dashes, you copied the wrong value. Go back to step 4.
Kintsugi does not label the ID on screen. In the organization list, each row shows, in order: the company name, a Live or Test badge, the organization ID itself, and a copy icon.
Detail | Value |
|---|---|
Format |
|
Example |
|
Case sensitive | Yes, copy it exactly |
Changes over time | No, the ID stays the same for the life of the organization |
On-screen label | None. The ID appears as plain text on the organization row, not next to a field name |
Verifying your identity when you contact Kintsugi Support by email rather than through in-app chat
Telling Kintsugi Support or your partner which of your organizations a request applies to
Sending Kintsugi API requests, which require the ID in the x-organization-id header

Your Organization ID identifies your organization, it does not authenticate you. It is not a password, and it is not an API key.
You cannot rename, customize, or reset an Organization ID.
Each organization has its own ID. IDs are never shared between organizations, even when the same login can access all of them.
A test organization has its own Organization ID, separate from your live organization, and the Live or Test badge next to the ID tells you which one you are looking at.
Your Organization ID is not your EIN, your sales tax ID, or any state account number.
The ID is not labeled on screen. It appears as plain text on the organization row, so it can be easy to mistake for another value if you are not looking at the right row.
Clicking anywhere on an organization's row other than the copy icon switches your active organization. Copying the ID does not require switching into that organization first.
Is my Organization ID the same as my API key? No. An API key authenticates the request, and the Organization ID tells Kintsugi which organization the request belongs to. API calls need both. See How to Create and Delete API Keys for how to generate a key.
I manage several organizations. Which ID should I send? Send the ID of the organization the question is about. If you are asking about a specific filing, registration, or transaction, use the organization where that record lives.
Is it safe to share my Organization ID? Share it with Kintsugi Support and with anyone already authorized on your account. Treat it the way you would treat an account number: it is not secret, but there is no reason to post it publicly.
