This article walks you through how to log into the Ohio (OHID) website and update your Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) settings. Adding Kintsugi’s secure group email allows us to access your Ohio tax registration directly without phone calls or back-and-forth codes needed.

Log into the OHID
Go to OHID and click “Log in.”
Input your credentials then click “Log In”.
Go to your account settings
Once logged in, click “Account Settings.”
Click “2-Step Verification” in the Signing in & Security section.
A 2-Step verification page will open. Click "Manage 2-step verification settings" to proceed.
Update your Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) method
You will be asked to verify that it’s you and the methods displayed will be the ones you have previously set up. Select one and enter the verification code.
Once verified, you will be directed to the Security tab. Click the "Add new method" button.

You will see a list of available methods, select "Email."
For the email, copy and paste your Virtual Mail Group ID from the Kintsugi app.
Example: file-upload-demo-cody@tax-platform.com. You can access this by logging into your Kintsugi app account and then going to Configuration > Kintsugi Mail > Virtual Mail Group > Group ID.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: Please make sure to add your personal or work email in the Virtual Mail Group. This is to ensure you continuously receive important updates and messages from state portals. A verification code will be sent to the email address you linked to Kintsugi’s Virtual Mail Group (VMG). Copy the verification code sent to the email (the one connected to in the Virtual Mail Group). Then, paste it into the website or portal to verify and complete the 2FA setup.
After completing the process successfully, the 2-Step verification method you selected will be available to use on the next login attempt.
