How to fix if Kin is covering the buttons I need to click

Updated 15 days ago

The Kin chat panel opens over the right side of the page, so it can sit on top of buttons and menus in that area, including the Register button and the three-dot menu on a Monitoring row.

What You Will See

You open Kin, then go to work on the page behind it. One of the following happens:

  • A row action you need is hidden behind the panel, most often Register or Review on the Monitoring tab

  • The three-dot menu on a Monitoring row opens underneath the panel, so you cannot reach Disregard

  • The nexus details drawer opens behind the panel and part of it is cut off

Nothing is broken and no data is affected. The panel is a layer on top of the page, so the controls underneath are still there.

Why This Happens

Kin opens as a panel pinned to the right edge of your browser window. It floats above the page rather than shrinking the page content to make room, so anything positioned on the right side of a page can end up underneath it.

Kintsugi puts row actions in the right-hand column of most tables, which is why the Monitoring tab is where customers notice this first.

How To Fix It

If you want to keep Kin open, move the panel.

  1. Click and hold anywhere on the Kin panel.

  2. Drag the panel up or down until the buttons you need are clear.

  3. Release. The panel stays where you put it while you keep working.

Dragging the panel to the top of the page clears the row actions on most tables.

If you need the full width of the page, close Kin.

  1. Click the X in the top corner of the Kin panel.

  2. Complete your action on the page.

  3. Click Kin on the right side to reopen it.

Your conversation history is preserved for the session, so you can pick up where you left off.

If the panel still overlaps after moving it, reduce your browser zoom.

  1. Press Ctrl and minus on Windows, or Command and minus on Mac.

  2. Step down one level at a time until the page fits.

  3. Press Ctrl and 0, or Command and 0, to return to 100 percent when you are done.

This is a workaround rather than a fix. If you need it regularly, tell us, because it helps us prioritize a layout change.

How To Confirm It Is Resolved

The button or menu you need is fully visible, and clicking it opens the expected dialog or drawer instead of doing nothing.

What This Does Not Cover

  • The Kin panel is a fixed width. You cannot resize it or shrink it to an icon.

  • The panel stays anchored to the right edge. You can move it up and down, but not to the left side of the screen.

  • Closing Kin is the only way to remove the panel from the page entirely.

FAQs

Can I move Kin to the left side of the screen? No. Kin stays anchored to the right edge. You can drag it up or down to clear whatever is underneath it.

Can I minimize Kin without closing it? Not today. The panel is a fixed width, so the options are to move it or close it. Closing Kin keeps your conversation history for the rest of the session.

Does Kin block me from registering or disregarding a nexus? No. Kin sits on top of those controls visually, but it does not change what you are able to do. Move the panel or close it, then take the action as usual.

Does the panel remember where I put it? The panel stays where you drag it while you keep working. If you close and reopen Kin, it returns to its default position.

Why does the page look fine when I zoom out? Zooming out shrinks the page content relative to the panel, which gives the buttons room to appear beside it rather than underneath it.
