District of Columbia Credentials for Importing Registration

To import your existing District of Columbia sales tax registration into Kintsugi, you'll need to provide a few details issued by the DC Office of Tax and Revenue (OTR) when you registered your business. DC manages its tax accounts through MyTaxDC, the District's online portal for filing, paying, and managing business taxes. Once imported, Kintsugi can manage your DC sales tax filings.

Required Credentials

When importing an existing District of Columbia sales tax registration into Kintsugi, you'll need the following:

• Login credentials (username/email and password)

• Registered Business Name

• Account ID

What Are My Login Credentials?

Your login credentials are your username (or email address) and password used to access your MyTaxDC account.

Where to find them

You created these credentials when you registered for or enrolled in MyTaxDC. If you've forgotten your username or password, you can recover them by visiting the MyTaxDC website and using the "Forgot Username" or "Forgot Password" links on the login page.

What's My Registered Business Name?

Your Registered Business Name is the official legal business name you provided to the DC Office of Tax and Revenue when you registered for your sales tax account.

Where to find it

You can find your registered business name in any of the following places:

• Your DC Certificate of Registration. When a business registers for sales tax, the DC OTR issues a Certificate of Registration. Your registered business name appears on this certificate.

• Your MyTaxDC account. Log in at mytax.dc.gov and review your business profile or account information to confirm the name on file.

• DC OTR correspondence. Any notices, letters, or account-related communications from the DC Office of Tax and Revenue will reference your registered business name.

What's My Account ID?

Your Account ID is the tax account number assigned to your business by the DC Office of Tax and Revenue when your sales tax account was established.

Where to find it

You can find your Account ID in any of the following places:

• Your DC Certificate of Registration. Your Account ID is included on the Certificate of Registration issued by the DC OTR after your sales tax account was approved.

• Your MyTaxDC account. Log in at mytax.dc.gov and navigate to your sales tax account summary to locate your Account ID.

• DC OTR correspondence. Any notices or letters from the DC Office of Tax and Revenue will include your Account ID.

Next Step

Once you provide the required credentials, Kintsugi will initiate the third-party access request. You do not need to validate or approve the request separately, as Kintsugi will complete this step on your behalf.

Once access is confirmed, Kintsugi can continue with the registration import setup in the app.
