Kintsugi supports Value Added Tax (VAT) compliance for businesses selling digital and SaaS products to customers in Tajikistan. Whether you are a resident business or a non-resident selling remotely to Tajik customers, Kintsugi helps you monitor nexus, manage registrations, calculate the correct tax, and stay on top of filing deadlines.
VAT in Tajikistan is a federal-level consumption tax governed by the Tax Code of the Republic of Tajikistan. It is administered by the Tax Committee under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, which handles registration, collection, and enforcement.
Tajikistan's current standard VAT rate is 14%, and it applies to taxable supplies made within the country, including digital and electronic services provided by foreign businesses to individuals in Tajikistan.
Tajikistan VAT obligations apply to two main groups:
Resident businesses (companies incorporated or with a physical presence in Tajikistan) that exceed the TJS 1,000,000 revenue threshold in any rolling 12-month period.
Non-resident businesses (foreign companies with no establishment in Tajikistan) that provide electronic or digital services to individual customers in Tajikistan. Non-residents must register from their very first B2C sale, with no minimum revenue threshold.
Kintsugi currently supports the following for Tajikistan:
Nexus monitoring — physical, economic, and collected-tax nexus for Tajikistan.
Registration — submitting new VAT registration requests and importing existing registrations.
Tax Engine — collecting the correct VAT on B2B SaaS and B2C SaaS transactions.
Filings — preparing and submitting VAT returns on the correct schedule.
Note: Support for product categories beyond B2B SaaS and B2C SaaS is coming in a future release.
