Documents Required for GST Registration in Singapore

what you need to gather before submitting a GST registration request in Singapore, whether you are registering under the Standard scheme or the OVR regime
Updated 2 months ago

General requirements for all registrations

Regardless of the registration type, IRAS requires the following information:

  • Legal business name

  • Registered business address

  • Business activity description (nature of goods or services supplied)

  • Contact details (authorized representative's name, email, and phone number)

  • Estimated annual taxable turnover

  • Reason for registration (mandatory or voluntary)

Standard GST Registration (Resident Businesses)

For businesses with a physical presence in Singapore, the registration is submitted via the myTax Portal using your Corppass account. You will typically need:

  • Your Unique Entity Number (UEN) assigned by ACRA

  • Business registration documents (e.g., ACRA business profile)

  • Financial statements or revenue records to support your turnover claim

  • Details of your business activities and the types of taxable supplies made

  • Bank account details (Singapore-based account required for GST payments)

OVR Registration (Non-Resident / Overseas Vendors)

For overseas businesses registering under the OVR simplified regime, registration is also completed through the myTax Portal. You will typically need:

  • Your overseas business registration number and country of incorporation

  • Certificate of incorporation or equivalent business registration document from your home country

  • Description of the remote services or low-value goods you supply to Singapore customers

  • Evidence of Singapore B2C revenue (e.g., revenue breakdown showing supplies to Singapore consumers)

  • Evidence of global turnover exceeding SGD 1,000,000

  • Authorized representative details (a local agent in Singapore is required for OVR registration)

Local agent requirement: Non-resident OVR registrants must appoint a local Singapore agent to liaise with IRAS. This is a regulatory requirement and cannot be waived.
