The Barbados Revenue Authority (BRA) is the government body responsible for administering, collecting, and enforcing VAT in Barbados. The BRA operates the Tax Administration Management Information System (TAMIS), which is the online portal used for VAT registration and filing.
Barbados uses Value Added Tax (VAT). This is equivalent to sales tax or Goods and Services Tax (GST) used in other countries. The standard VAT rate is 17.5%, which applies uniformly across the country. There are no local or regional tax jurisdictions in Barbados. VAT is imposed at the national level only.
Note: Telecommunication services (such as mobile voice, data, and text messaging) are subject to a higher rate of 22%. This does not apply to SaaS products.
