Kintsugi keeps your team informed about important events and actions that need immediate attention, such as filing approvals, billing updates, and connection failures. These are critical, trigger-based emails, meaning they are sent automatically as soon as a relevant event occurs.
Not everyone on your team, however, needs to receive every alert. If you have teammates, like executives or finance leads, who need access to Kintsugi but prefer a clutter-free inbox, you can now turn off email notifications for them directly in the app.
Please note: When the toggle is turned off for a user, that user will not receive any critical email notifications. There is no option to control which specific emails are sent or how frequently they arrive, as all notifications are triggered automatically by system events.
You will need admin access to manage notification settings for other users in your organization.
Email notifications are turned on by default for all users, including anyone newly added to your organization. You do not need to configure anything to start receiving them.
Critical emails are trigger-based notifications sent automatically when a specific event occurs in your account. Examples include:
Filing approvals
Billing updates
Integration or connection failures
These emails are not scheduled or sent on a fixed frequency. They are sent as and when a trigger is pushed, so the timing depends entirely on activity in your account.
Log in to your Kintsugi account.
From the left-side navigation menu, click Configuration.
Select Users to see everyone in your organization.
Find the user you want to update. Click the Email Notifications toggle along the row of the email address.
A confirmation popup will appear asking: "Disable Email Notifications — Are you sure you want to disable email notifications for this user?"
Click Confirm.
You will see a success message confirming the change: "Email notifications successfully disabled."
To turn notifications back on, simply click the toggle again and confirm.
Turning off the toggle means the user will stop receiving all critical email notifications from Kintsugi.
All team members with access to the Users screen can see who has notifications enabled or disabled.
Changes take effect immediately.
The affected user will not receive any alert when their notifications are turned off.
There is no option to control the type or frequency of individual notifications. All critical emails are trigger-based and sent automatically.
Can I update notifications for multiple users at once? Not at this time. Notification preferences need to be updated one user at a time.
Can users update their own notification settings? Currently, this is managed by admins through the Users screen under Configuration.
What happens when the toggle is turned off? The user will not receive any critical email notifications, including filing approvals, billing updates, and connection failure alerts, until the toggle is turned back on.
Can I choose which critical emails a user receives? No. The toggle controls all critical email notifications for a user. There is no option to filter by email type or adjust delivery frequency, as these emails are sent automatically based on account activity.
