Ways to Check Your EU Nexus Status in Kintsugi

If you're selling in the European Union, staying on top of where you've met tax Nexus is essential. Kintsugi offers multiple ways to check your EU Nexus status — all designed to give you full visibility and control.

Below are the different ways you can check your Nexus exposure in EU jurisdictions:


1. Exposure Map: Get a High-Level View

  • Click Dashboard.

  • In the Exposure Map, select the Europe region tab.

This map will highlight all EU countries where you’ve met Nexus. This view is ideal for quickly spotting where you may have obligations.


2. Monitoring (formerly known as the "Nexus" tab)

a. Monitoring: Filter by Specific Region

  • Scroll down to the Monitoring tab (formerly known as the "Nexus" tab).

  • Use the dropdown beside Monitoring and select Europe & UK.

    This is helpful if you're interested in seeing the countries in Europe & UK where you have jurisdictions.

b. Monitoring: Filter by Specific Country

  • Go to the Monitoring tab page.

  • Click the Filter icon.

  • Select a specific country to filter by Country.

This is helpful if you're interested in just one or a few jurisdictions.


4. Transactions Page: View EU-Based Transactions

  • Go to the Transactions page.

  • Use the "Filter" button to narrow down the displayed information. You can filter by:

    • Country

    • Jurisdiction

    • Transaction Type

    • Transaction Source

    • Address Status

    • Filing

    • Status

    • Marketplace

    • Date

    Click Apply to view all transactions matched by that filter.

This method helps confirm which sales are contributing to your Nexus exposure.


5. Add Physical Presence for EU Countries

If you have physical operations in an EU country (e.g., warehouse, office):

  • Navigate to the Presence tab.

  • Click the New button on the top-right.

  • You'll see a pop-up form; enter the required details for that EU country, then click the Save button to record the nexus profile.
