Managing tax registrations across multiple states can be challenging. This guide walks you through how to easily import your existing registrations into Kintsugi—and what to do if you hit a snag.

How to Import Your Registrations

1. Go to the Registrations tab in your Kintsugi dashboard.

2. Click the Import button in the upper right corner.

3. Fill in all required fields, then click Save. Your registrations will be imported.

Don’t Know Your Login Credentials?

If you're registered in a state but can’t recall your login details, here are a few ways to recover or work around them.

1. Contact Your State’s Department of Revenue
   Reach out to your state’s Department of Revenue (DOR) and request your business tax login credentials (username and password).
   👉 You can find their contact information here: State Department of Revenue Phone Numbers If you already have an account but forgot your credentials, ask the DOR to reset your username or password.

2. Provide Your Most Recent Filed Return
   If the state can’t recover or reset your credentials, reach out to your Kintsugi Onboarding Manager or Customer Success Manager.
   You can provide a PDF copy of your last filed return, which usually includes your Taxpayer ID or Sales Tax ID. These details help us link your state account.

• If you're registered in a state that isn't flagged as a nexus state, Kintsugi may not automatically detect it.

• State tax agencies may send important notices about your account. To avoid penalties or delays:

  • Set up Kintsugi Mail

  • Forward all state letters to us—we'll handle the next steps.

• Most states will alert you to upcoming filings or issues. We'll work with you to resolve these as needed.

• Importing registrations is not available on the Free Plan.
